Lucas Barrios não é a última contratação do Grêmio para a temporada. Após a vitória por 2 a 0 sobre o Cruzeiro, em que Renato Portaluppi reclamou do rendimento da equipe, o vice de futebol, Odorico Roman, afirmou que o clube ainda busca mais dois jogadores.

Leila Pereira, dona da Crefisa, foi eleita conselheira do Palmeiras com votação recorde no último sábado, mas ainda precisa superar mais uma barreira para exercer o mandato de quatro anos: está prevista para o dia 6 de março, antes da cerimônia de posse dos novos conselheiros, a votação que pode impugnar a candidatura dela. Os membros do atual Conselho Deliberativo, e não os recém-eleitos, é que julgarão o caso.

Os conselheiros que entraram com pedido de impugnação se baseiam no argumento usado por Paulo Nobre, que tentou brecar a candidatura da dona da Crefisa no último ato de seu mandato: ela seria sócia do clube desde 2015, e portanto não teria os oito anos necessários para concorrer. Mustafá Contursi, ex-presidente do clube, alega que deu a ela um título de sócia benemérita em 1996, versão aceita pelo atual mandatário, Maurício Galiotte, o que permitiu que 248 sócios pudessem votar nela no último fim de semana.

A expectativa no clube é que o Conselho aprove a candidatura de Leila. O motivo: ela faz parte da chapa Palmeiras Forte, capitaneada por Mustafá, que exerce grande influência sobre o órgão. Comenta-se no clube que a única possibilidade de o resultado ser outro é se a votação for secreta.

José Roberto Lamacchia, marido de Leila, recebeu 62 votos e também foi eleito. Ele foi o terceiro mais votado da chapa Palmeiras Forte.

Dos 76 conselheiros eleitos, 27 são da Palmeiras Forte, 27 são da chapa Palestra, 13 são da UVB e nove são da Academia, chapa apoiada por Paulo Nobre. Os 15 suplentes estão divididos entre Palestra (seis), Palmeiras Forte (cinco), UVB (dois) e Academia (dois).

Daniel James has impressed during Wales’ first two games in the Euros, which may spark further interest after recent links to Leicester City, but former Hull City star, Dean Windass, can’t see Manchester United letting him go.

James, 23, got a huge move from Swansea City to Man United in the summer of 2019 and after a solid debut campaign, he found first-team starts a lot more difficult to come by last term, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handing the winger just 11 in the Premier League.

Leeds famously thought they had signed him in January 2019, only for Swansea to pull the plug on the potential deal on Deadline Day, despite James having signed everything and already taken pictures holding the shirt.

Man United appear to have their sights set on landing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, which could be a huge worry for James’ future at Old Trafford but, despite this, Windass can’t see the Red Devils letting him go, which he exclusively said to Football FanCast:

“I can’t see Ole letting him go because he’s still a young lad who is learning and he’s doing very well for Wales so I can’t see Man United letting him go.”

James would no doubt love to become a regular at Man United, however, he appears to be a long way behind the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and also Sancho, if the England international does arrive at Old Trafford this summer.

It may be a case of giving it one more season to prove that he is good enough because he is certainly a great impact player for the Red Devils to have considering his lighting quick pace, which he showcased for Wales against Turkey in the Euros.

Barry Fry believes Aaron Ramsey would be a superb, if expensive, signing for West Ham United this summer.

The Juventus midfielder has been heavily linked with a potential departure from the club this summer amid links with the Premier League.

The Hammers have again been touted as potential suitors, along with Crystal Palace and, potentially, former club Arsenal.

Ramsey, of course, made his name in the Premier League, making 371 appearances in total for the Gunners, and scoring 65 goals, while also registering 65 assists.

However, he is reported to earn £400,000-per-week in Turin following his free transfer to Serie A, though he has made just 46 appearances for Juve.

Fry does not believe that the Hammers will give him anything close to those wages at the London Stadium but he feels that if they can make a deal happen, it would be a superb signing for them.

Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, he said: “They could possibly make it happen but I’m sure they wouldn’t pay him 400 grand a week.

“Ramsey’s been outstanding for Wales, he makes fantastic runs from midfield, he’s a perfect player to fit into that West Ham style of play and he would be a great asset and a great signing but they won’t go to that much, there’s no doubt in my mind.”

Horsley had great reward for a positive innings and scored his century off 132 balls with 15 fours and a six.Stewart chimed in also with some fine attacking play.
